HideBox
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HideBox mobile application ("the App"), provided by Hetal Gohel ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using HideBox, you agree to these Terms.
Description of Service
HideBox is a privacy utility application that allows you to hide and secure photos & videos behind PIN, pattern, or biometric authentication, and to lock other apps on your device. Some features are available for free; additional features are available through HideBox Premium, a paid subscription or one-time purchase.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use HideBox. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your Responsibility for Your Content and Passcodes
HideBox helps protect content that you choose to store in the App. However:
- You are solely responsible for remembering your PIN, pattern, or passcode. If you forget it and cannot authenticate with biometrics, you may permanently lose access to content stored in the vault. We do not store your PIN/passcode on our servers and cannot recover it for you.
- You are solely responsible for the legality of the content you store in the App. You agree not to use HideBox to store, hide, or distribute any content that is illegal, infringing, or that violates the rights of others, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that violates applicable law.
- We reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement where required by law, and to suspend or terminate access to the App for users found to be using it for illegal purposes.
Backup Feature
If you enable the optional encrypted Backup and Restore feature, you acknowledge that a copy of your vault content will be transmitted and stored as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your backup credentials secure.
Subscriptions and Payments (HideBox Premium)
- HideBox Premium is offered on a Monthly or Lifetime basis, as displayed at the time of purchase.
- Payment will be charged to your Google Play account upon purchase confirmation.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Google Play Store > Subscriptions.
- Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy; we do not directly process refunds outside of Google Play's systems.
- Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including storing or concealing illegal content;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App;
- Use the App to harass, stalk, or violate the privacy of another person without their consent;
- Circumvent or interfere with the App's security features for malicious purposes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if we determine, in good faith, that you have violated these Terms.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, logos, and underlying code, is owned by the Developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Disclaimer of Warranties
HideBox is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted;
- Your content will never be lost, corrupted, or become inaccessible due to device issues, forgotten passcodes, OS updates, or uninstallation;
- The App will be immune from unauthorized access resulting from device compromise, malware, or third-party actions outside our control.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of access to content, or loss of profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Third-Party Services
The App may integrate third-party services (e.g., Google Play Billing, advertising networks, analytics providers, or cloud storage for backups). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
Changes to the App or Terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or applicable law.
